Should I use multiple email accounts? Absolutely, use email aliases!

Summary:

It should be known that you must use a different email for work, a different email for socials, a different email for shopping online accounts, and different emails for private and public use. If you don’t already do this, stop now and make changes to your habits. You want to use a separate email account for more sensitive communications, such as financial or medical information, to reduce the risk of that information being accessed by unauthorized parties. Additionally, using different email accounts for different online services can help prevent those services from linking your activity across different platforms, which can be useful for maintaining greater privacy and reducing the amount of personal data that is collected and tracked about you.

It’s a bad habit to mix online accounts from different activities. Use email aliases.

It is recommended that you use a password manager and have multiple email accounts for different purposes. For instance, you may want to use a secret identity email account for sensitive information like bank accounts and cloud storage services. A professional identity email account can be used for LinkedIn, a private identity email account for personal emails to family and friends, a social identity email account for platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, and a public identity email account for shopping and random registrations.

Even if you think it is a lot, it’s worth it and with a password manager, it is easy to have strong random passwords that you can share across devices for each account.

If you use Apple devices, there is Hide My Email. “Hide My Email is a service that lets you keep your personal email address private whether you’re creating a new account with an app, signing up for a newsletter online, or sending an email to someone you don’t know well.”

You can use services like privacy-oriented email providers, such as ProtonMail, which allow you to create multiple email addresses under one main account or a service like Burner Mail or Simple login even a ten minute Temp Mail
